At college surgery we provide a full range of contraceptive services. You can see any gp or practice nurse for advice regarding contraception.
If you require emergency contraception please phone as soon as possible and ask to speak to the same-day service doctor. He/she will phone you back within an hour and arrange for an appointment to obtain this.
If you want to start on the contraceptive pill, patch or injection, please make an appointment with any doctor. Our practice nurses can also provide contraceptive pill checks and injections.
We provide long acting methods of contraception as well, such as implanon (the contraceptive implant) and coils (IUDs, such as the mirena/IUS and copper IUDs).
For implanon, please make an appointment to see Dr Juliet Nelson or Dr Fiona Black. They will discuss this method of contraception with you, and then book an appointment for fitting or removal here at the surgery.
For coils (IUDs), please book an appointment with Dr Clare Matthews or Dr Fiona Black. They will discuss this method of contraception with you and then arrange for you to come to one of our IUD clinics for fitting. We hold IUD clinics at the main surgery in Cullompton twice a month. Our practice nurses provide IUD checks.
For IUD removal please arrange to speak to one of the doctors or nurses by telephone for advice, and they will then arrange a suitable appointment for you with one of the nurses.
