Chlamydia Screening

We are pleased to be a chlamydia screening surgery.

We can offer screening tests for chlamydia to all patients under age 25 on a yearly basis. Chlamydia is the most frequently diagnosed sexually transmitted infection (STI) in the UK. It's most common under the age of 25, and most people don't get any symptoms. If it is not treated it can cause pelvic pain and infertility. Chlamydia is easily treated with antibiotics.

The test is free, simple and confidential; all you need to do is give a urine sample or a self-take vaginal swab.

Please ask your doctor, nurse or healthcare assistant about chlamydia screening.

If you want to start on the  contraceptive pill, patch or injection, please  make an appointment with any doctor. Our practice nurses can also provide contraceptive pill checks and injections.

We provide long acting methods of contraception as well, such as nexplanon (the contraceptive implant) and coils (IUDs, such as the mirena/IUS and copper IUDs).

For coils (IUDs) nexplanon, please request an appointment via reception.
